In this course, I teach you the surprisingly simple approach I’ve used throughout my career to go from a C student to training professionals at the biggest animation and gaming studios, and selling my fine art to collectors around the world.
We take a holistic approach here. You’ll learn the craft of gesture, structure, values, and edge control - but also how to think, feel, and truly see. You’ll gain the core tools of strong draftsmanship and, more importantly, begin developing your own artistic voice. We work with both the mechanics and the meaning. That’s where real growth happens.
Learn the surprisingly simple methods I use to draw, paint, and sculpt figures at the level I do. You’ll discover how to break down complex ideas into smaller, manageable steps and gain more control over the figure through structured repetition and targeted exercises I call “filters.” These help you train specific skills like proportion, form, and design thinking.
Beyond technical instruction, we’ll also explore philosophy. Art isn’t just something you do - it’s how you connect with the world and with yourself. It’s a foundation found in many spiritual traditions. The techniques you’ll learn aren’t just about drawing better, but about finding deeper meaning in your practice. Whether you’re new to drawing or have been practicing for years, this course gives you strategies to move forward - and to go deeper, not just faster.
If you’re tired of formulaic methods and want to find a rhythm that truly fits you, I’d love for you to join me. Together, we’ll build a strong foundation of craft, curiosity, confidence, and connection. That’s the real project - and it’s worth the effort. See you in the course.
Course Demos

Long-Form Charcoal Rendering – 1.5 hours (unnarrated)
Quick Sketch – 12 minutes (narrated)
What You Will Learn
1. Gesture and StructureLearn the foundational pillars of figure drawing. Gesture captures the movement and life of the figure, while structure builds solid, believable form. These two core principles are at the heart of every drawing and are used together in every lesson.
2. See Like an Artist
Develop the skill of perception - not just observation. You’ll train your eye to simplify the world into meaningful shapes, forms, and relationships, and learn to break down visual complexity into manageable, repeatable steps.
3. Drawing as Connection
Understand drawing as a strategy for emotional and visual connection. Rather than focusing only on accuracy, you’ll learn how to use your drawings to create meaning, connection, and narrative - between forms, ideas, and viewers.
4. Filters and Iterations
Train with focused intent. Use “filters” (isolated drawing challenges such as proportion or shape design) and “iterations” (strategic repetition) to build muscle memory and develop control. This process removes overwhelm and accelerates growth.
5. Master Simplification
Simplify without sacrificing character. You’ll learn to approach complex subjects with clarity, reducing the figure to essential forms and rhythms that maintain truth while remaining manageable to draw.
6. Craft Meets Creativity
Integrate technical skill with artistic voice. Rather than drawing by formula, you’ll learn to make intentional choices about tone, edges, shape, and design that express your unique point of view and emotional truth.
