We’ve been on this journey together for over 8 years. Throughout this time, OCC (and then GBC) have grown into more than just platforms - they’ve become a vital resource for our entire community.
All this time, the project was run purely on enthusiasm, and profit was never the top priority. if you scroll down to the footer, u'll always find the message i wrote ages ago explaining why i started this project. I started this project as a hobby, not a biz. it eventually covered its own costs, sometimes a bit more than the server bills, sometimes a bit less. but since i was working full-time, the income was negligible but acceptable. Since last aug i retired and server bills have gotten a bit "heavier" ). Mediafile stash is now ~25tb. Anyone who understands the scale can estimate the monthly cost of renting a servers for such projects/$$$
We haven't uploaded many courses on OCC over the past year. It was due to issues unrelated to the site, like personal commitments and changes in lifestyle, plus some small family challenges... So the OCC project was basically running at a loss last yr since we didn’t have the capacity to roll out new courses. As you've noticed, I've been super active on this for 3 months now: improved download links, made them more informative, and bumped up usability (handy links for crawljobs and shows the duration and size of each file [to finally show people what the real advantage of OCC and mediafiles is: the extremely small file size while maintaining acceptable quality], enhanced curriculum section, link to the original course, many new features in the course card above the article, etc.) We’ve poured everything back into the platform to keep it running. However, this month we’ve hit a serious financial roadblock, and we are currently unable to cover our server costs.
Well, I should probably explain why supporting us right now is beneficial for you, i.e. what will you get?

- We're pretty much done implementing an auto translation system
for all content uploaded to mediafile storage, covering ~50 popular languages for subtitles,, plus, the dubbing system 
for 26 languages is almost ready, and trust me, yours is included )) idk how the whole system will work rn bc subtitling needs serious resources. It's either a local ai server (I have built two) or buying/wasting API tokens. Anyone into the ai revolution has a rough idea of the cost. Same goes for dubbing- so we can't translate everything into 50 langs or do dubbing for every course on occ cause we just dont have the resources. Most likely, the premium you purchase on MediaFile will include a certain number of tokens for translation or voiceover services. For example, with a one-week MediaFile voucher, you could order subtitles for three courses or a single voiceover in any of the available languages. Let's call them perks. Yes, they will be called that))
